The opportunity:

In this role, you’ll be collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to bring experiences to life. We leverage human-centered design and business value expertise to build experiences that support our members in their longitudinal health journey. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the user experience for our D2C & B2B2C members, as well as for our providers.

What you’ll do:

Hire and manage other product designersHelp evolve the EPD team by giving domain/industry expertise and supporting recruiting effortsLead, coordinate and run one or more tracks of work independently or in conjunction with key project team membersConduct discovery activities to define high-level user journeys identifying key features and capabilities neededProduce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design specs to communicate detailed designs and solutions to guide development sprintsUse documentation, reviews, and presentations to communicate clear and compelling ideas to a wide range of key stakeholdersChampion the user throughout the build by continually promoting human-centered design methods, including research, validation, and the inclusion of user feedbackWork with multidisciplinary teams and consistently promote active collaboration, co-creation and continual alignment while building close relationships with customers and key collaboratorsEngage and partner with external clients and other partners when requiredCreate designs that promote flexibility and configurable methodologies before custom solutionsConduct design validation and/or user testing with end-usersIdentify and resolve and/or raise issues and conflicts within the project teamGenerate detailed final design specs that inspire accurate developer buildsWork with technical teams and quality experts to deliver a polished final productPromote and educate others on new interface guidelines and design patternsCreate expansive designs for all users; advocate for accessibility, encouraging product and engineering management to prioritize accessible features and bug fixesContinually strive to set a higher standard for the overall quality of design and design artifacts

What you’ll need:

7+ years of experience designing and delivering exceptional experiences from start to finish, as part of a cross-functional team1-3 years management experienceExperience leading teams of designers and/or tracks of work – driving key design activities as it applies to large scale, programmatic implementationsDeep understanding and experience of design thinking as well as agile methodology and best practicesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, agile environment while producing high quality detailed designs on tight deadlinesSelf-motivation; ability to produce results both independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and active listening skills, with an ability to build and develop close, trusting relationshipsExperience using multiple approaches, including analytics and user research, to drive decisions and develop design iterationsAbility to distill and reframe problems, then define a framework for resolution, generating clear, elegant solutions for sophisticated challengesAbility to influence, refine and iterate based on the findings and being open to receive and offer constructive feedbackSystems thinking; ability to step back and see a project’s larger ecosystem, with a focus on solutions that improve not just one feature but the entire user flowAbility to use a wide range of product design, information design, interaction design, and visual design skills in order to deliver premier experiences and solutionsExpert knowledge of current design tools such as Figma, along with an ability to quickly learn new tools as they emergeAbility to understand the interconnectedness and constraints of underlying enterprise eco systems and demonstrate that to design scalable, integrated solutions that work as a platformAbility to work with technical and business team members to evolve epics and user stories into wireframes and/or visualized prototypes.Experience working with design systems.Ability to communicate ideas to a wide variety of stakeholders, lead discussions and creative activities, and build consensus while dealing with ambiguityAbility to present and share the rationale behind the proposed solutions using appropriate medium (sketches, schematics, wires, click-throughs, storyboards, high-fidelity mocks, rapid prototyping and end-to-end narratives)Knowledge or experience using healthcare products and solutionsBA/BS or MA/MS in design-related field, or equivalent experience
